My roles and project progress

In this project, the main goal was to incarnate several roles to create a F2P project. So after 3 weeks I was working as a QA tester, Game Designer and UI/UX Designer. These 3 different roles helped me to discover new ways of working, especially QA Tester that was my first "testing" experience, including the creation of some Google Forms before, during and after the production. It helped a lot to receive feedback and return a proper response.

As Game Designer, continuing the work of my colleagues, I improved the gameplay loops and adjusted the global experience of the gameplay (amount of ammo, ball physics...).

Finally, as a UI/UX designer, my job was to improve the existing UI in the game, creating the main menu, the shop menu and the theoretical progression/awards menu at the end of levels. I also took care to respect the F2P rules (Jernström test...) to get closer to a real economic model.

Organization

We were given the choice of working remotely or in the school, and we decided to stay together in an open space for better communication.

Due to the small periods of role contributions, we worked with precise and little objectives, more documented than a game jam. The aim of this organization was also to easily give our current task to other colleagues at the end of the week (role switching).

This method allowed us to be really productive and also to share our personal experiences to help each other.
